The single most inspring talk/video about Go

Hi guys,

I am a Java developer transitioning to Go and
I was never so passionate about a language since
someone introduced me to Smalltalk many years ago.

I am trying to get some other java developers to have a serious look at Go.
There are tons of golang talks from conferences meetups etc.
So what I am trying to find is the most inspiring, influental talk on the web
that will make a Java developer have a serious look at Go, not necessarily
from Rob Pike or Dave Cheney who are on my short list.

Just one - that’s all we really need, because once you play around with Go you get hooked
and there is no turning back…

What’s on the top of your list?

Thank you all.
Horst

For me this would have to be the original announcement in 2009.

I rewatch this regularly and each time I am struck by the clarity of the rationale for a new lanaguge, and similarly impressed that the language as envisaged in 2009 remains the same today. A credit to the design and the execution of that design.

For me it’s probably Rob Pike’s “Public Static Void” talk.

Coming from a C and Java background while experimenting with Ruby and Python on my free time, this talk really resonated with me back then.

This paper raised the hair on the back of my neck. It had a profound effect on me, after many years of software development experience in other languages, including Java
