I am new to Go but have 25 years of development experience, the last 12 or so has been pretty much exclusively working with Scala primarily in the financial services space.
For several reasons Scala is in terminal decline so I am looking for something new.
Is anyone running or involved with community/open source projects I can contribute to?
Obviously I am not a Go expert (yet) but I feel I would learn a lot more from a professionally run Go project than working through contrived examples from books and YouTube videos.
Here’s a comment I made with some OSS projects that you might contribute to:
If I were you, I’d read The Go Programming Language. You can read first couple chapters free on that link. It’s an excellent book and, while there are new features like modules that it doesn’t cover, you can easily modernize your Go knowledge after reading it.
Other than that, just find something on GitHub that appeals to you and contribute!
