LXD Software Engineer @ Canonical Ltd - Remote (EMEA & Americas)

LXD is a container manager written in Go which uses the most recent Linux kernel features to provide a VM-like experience on top of containers. It’s designed to scale very well to thousands of containers, including running on multiple nodes as part of a cluster.

We’re looking for someone to work on the main REST API, implementing new user facing features and work on our next scalability challenges.

We are a small distributed team responsible for the development and maintenance of LXD, LXC and LXCFS as well as some amount of related work in the Linux kernel.

We normally put out a LXD feature release every month or so as well as maintain a couple of LTS releases for those users who don’t enjoy all those new features.

On top of developing LXD itself, we are also quite active at conferences and in the community, publicly speaking about what we’re up to and designing shared infrastructure with other projects and companies to benefit the growing container ecosystem.
