After a while I came back to Go to finish some old project. Surprisingly after checking disk changes I’ve encountered new contents in XDG_HOME, namely go/telemetry/local and /upload with bunch of files inside of local, with records of my recent activities.
After a substantial amount of search, I’ve finally figured out barely documented option, how to completely get rid of even local recording. Brought back in after a backlash when mode=off was removed.
What are options when Google’s spy urge will break loose and there will be no choice? I’ve found how interwoven now telemetry in gopls is. Is anybody resolved to create a fork of compiler & tools with patches disabling telemetry altogether? Make some intricate firewall settings to prevent uploading? Perpetually updated?
