Im new to Golang

Hello everyone, I’m new in go. I’ve got 4 years of experience on linux, and I know some html and css. I chose that I should learn programming. Have you got any advice?

@MrDuckDev I have a book coming out in November that is specific to writing command-line interfaces and uses examples written in Go. Though it is not a “new developer” focused book, it does provide guidance that makes no assumptions on CLI knowledge. If you are open for it, I’d love to get your newbie feedback and judge whether this is approachable. Review packets are going out this month so DM me if you have interest.

  1. Set up a realistic goal
  2. Ask about how to reach this goal.
  3. Start coding and deploy.
  4. When finished, raise the goal and repeat.

My habit is to document my effort for each goal (how did I do?) and go back if you forgot something. Starting with a “hello world” can be good, as this involves some steps towards a live PoC.

I’m interested :upside_down_face:

Maykie, I’m just realizing I don’t think there is a DM function here. (never tried before). Drop me a email at schaeferauthor@gmail.com and I’ll get you a copy next week for review.
