Hi Gophers,
I maintain go-tour-i18n, an unofficial, community-maintained multilingual version of A Tour of Go.
The project currently has 11 translations in production: Brazilian Portuguese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Swedish, and Turkish.
I started the project because A Tour of Go is an excellent learning resource, but some developers are more comfortable learning technical concepts in their native language.
As the project grew, I found that translation itself was only one part of the problem. The project now maintains a repeatable workflow for:
- locale-specific terminology and glossaries;
- complete translation units rather than arbitrary text fragments;
- structural validation;
- separate language-quality review;
- upstream synchronization and stale detection;
- metadata and UI localization;
- production publishing and verification.
Several of the translations are also linked from the official A Tour of Go localization page.

I also wrote a more detailed article about what I learned while maintaining the project across 11 languages:
I’m continuing to add more languages, and feedback is very welcome — especially from native speakers who notice translations that are technically correct but do not sound natural.
