Hi folks! I’m just wondering if jobs posted here are verified by the moderation in any way, I saw a post about a open position, but I’m concerned about scams/AI slop.
I know it is really hard to verify a real open job position, and I’m not asking for that, I just want to understand the context, before starting a conversation with the possible recruiter

That is a good question. I am assuming you are talking about that temporal job. I let it through initially because it was for a “real” company, but, now that I’m looking at Temporal’s jobs they don’t have a single one listed in Dubai. I did more digging and they don’t seem to have any offices in Dubai either. So, I’m almost certain that was a scam. Post deleted.
I didn’t even think to be suspicious about job postings. But it absolutely makes sense that it’s a vector for attack. Post a job for a real company that you’re not associated with in any way. Do a fake interview. Get the users’ information to “verify their identity”. And people who are job-searching can be desperate and more likely to make mistakes.
That said, Temporal does have openings. If you were interested, you can hit them up here directly.
Yes, I also did a bit of searching on my side about that job position.
I image some people join the forum just to search for jobs, so it would be cool to have a warning “unverified” label, just to be explicit that a job position is not verified by moderation before being posted
I don’t know how hard would be to implement this on the forum though, maybe we can just pin a message about that in the Jobs category.
