Adding Packages to Go

I tried adding a path to Git, by adding Git as a system variable, but instead of allowing me to add packages, the shell says that go isn’t recognized.

go : The term 'go' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable 
program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct    
and try again.

What do you mean by “adding git as a system variable”?

Can you please do echo $PATH?
