Hardware engineer that spent more than 2 decades in the power electronics industry. Over the last 5 years though, my attention and ultimately job has transformed into that of software developer (how did that happen?). Spent many years programming embedded applications as a hardware engineer, mostly in assembler, but also a fair amount of C. Ultimately got started with high level language using a language called Delphi (Object Oriented Pascal). A fantastic language which is completely undersold.

Nowadays I spend a lot of my time programming in Go, and teaching it to students too. I particularly like Go, partly because it reminds me of my lower level programming days in C (which at the time I considered a “high level language”!)
